Instrument Rating Aeroplanes IR(A) / Instrument Rating Helicopter IR(H)

The instrument rating in accordance with JAR-FCL 1.180 enables the holder to conduct flights without visual reference down to a minimum decision height of 200 ft (60 m).

The rating will be endorsed on a Pilot licence (PPL or CPL). Applicants already holding a CPL licence will be granted some concessions during the practical part of the Rating because of their prior knowledge, but none during the theoretical course and examinations.
