Requirements

  Instrument Rating Aeroplanes IR(A) / Instrument Rating Helicopter IR(H)

In accordance with JAR-FCL 1 Paragraph E the following requirements must be fulfilled in order to qualify for an instrument rating:

  • 50 flight hours (cross country) as Pilot-in-Command
  • night rating
  • theoretical knowledge,
  • sufficient english knowledge, including RT license,
  • and practical flight training.

The distance learning course reduces the required classroom time for the theory (point 3) from 150 hours to a 30 hour seminar only. This seminar may be booked at any JAR-FCL approved IR Flight Training Organisation of your choice.
