CAT eLearning Application
Description
The CAT eLearning Application allows you to access your digital courseware through any modern desktop computer or mobile device.
Every digital courseware license allows for access on up to three devices simultaneously and every annotation you make, using any of the one dozen annotation tools, is automatically backed up to your online user account and synced between all of your devices every time you close a document.
While the automatic annotation synchronization requires an active internet connection, the app also offers full offline support for accessing all documents previously downloaded to your device. Annotations made while offline will be stored and synchronized as soon as an internet connection is re-established.
Please note that while the app was designed to be as identical as possible on all platforms, minor system specific differences are still present between different platforms and operating system versions.

Annexes and Reference Material
Some of the courses accessed through the CAT eLearning App can contain and reference additional material outside of the course documents.
Where applicable, all annexes and reference documents are included in the courses and can be accessed directly through the CAT eLearning App. However, you can also choose to separately download them directly onto your device, in order to access them in parallel, by using either split-view or multitasking through any third-party application capable of displaying PDF files.
Additionally, you can also download optional material to reference digitally or print and fill out to better familiarize yourself with the required paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CAT eLearning Application currently makes no distinction between touch inputs and Apple Pencil inputs.
Apart from being a potentially more convenient input device for Freehand Drawings, the Apple Pencil offers no functional benefit or difference over regular touch inputs or third party stylus products.
Yes, as long as you have successfully logged into a device, you can continue to access and annotate any document that has been downloaded to the device before it was disconnected from the internet.
Annotations made while offline will be stored locally on the device and automatically synced to the server as soon as it is reconnected to the internet.
The app automatically switches between online and offline mode as your device connects or disconnects from the internet.
To free up a device slot, open the CAT eLearning App on the device you want to remove from your account, then access the User Menu from the left hand side of the Hub Screen and select “Disable Device”.
This removes the device from your account and also deletes all locally stored documents, annotations and account details from the device.
This does not delete any annotations previously synced to server, which will still be available to all current or futures devices linked to your account.
If you no longer have access to a device you wish to remove from your account, please email us at and we will manually unlink individual devices from your account.
You can use the CAT eLearning App on up to three devices of any type simultaneously. Any additional login attempts will be rejected due to the device slot limit being reached.

CAT eLearning 2.0.1 Release
A new update of the CAT eLearning Application to version 2.0.1 has been submitted for review with the platform holders. It should become available to all users within the next 12 to 72 hours.

We would like to comment on the three highlighted changes a bit more in depth, since these might appear more visibly during regular use of the application:
Added App Version Check to Login
During new logins into the application, starting with version 2.0.1 there is a check for available app updates, before a login attempt can be verified. This will prevent initiating new sessions using outdated versions of the application.
This change does not affect already active sessions, but also prevents previously fixed issues from potentially propagating through automatic synchronization to other devices of the same user.
Added Update Button to App Update Notification
While version 2.0.0 already informed users of available updates through a dedicated notification window, starting with version 2.0.1 this window now also contains a dedicated “Update”-button, which allows users to directly access the correct update path for their device.
Compared to the previous update process, this negates the need to first access the product page and then selecting the platform you want to update.
Removed Markup Tool until further notice due to Performance Issues
Due to a performance issue recently discovered and reported by our users, we have had to remove the Markup Tool on iOS devices and the connected native Apple Pencil support until further notice.
This does not remove previously created Markup annotations from your documents, but it prevents the creation of any additional Markup annotations.
If one of your devices is experiencing input delays or crashes in documents with existing Markup annotations, please use the Eraser Tool to remove the existing Markup annotations. This should resolve any similar or related performance issues.
Text Highlights, Freehand Drawings, and Notes can still be added to any document using the respective tools from the Top Toolbar.
We hope to re-enable native Apple Pencil support in a future update, but will have to further explore the interplay between native iOS inputs and our cross-platform annotation format before such an update can be finalized.
Furthermore, we are already planning both a general overhaul to the Document Viewer user interface as well as exploring more intuitive interaction options, to allow for the simultaneous navigation and annotation of a document.

This Monday, the 14th of December CAT eLearning 2.0.0 was finally certified for release on all relevant platforms!
2.0.0 is by far our biggest and most substantial release to date!

After long months of development, the substantial Update 2.0.0 with many new features, improvements, and a completely redesigned user interface is finally nearing its release.
Work on the update has been completed and it is now undergoing review by Apple, Microsoft, and Google.
As soon as the platforms holders clear it for release, we will inform all current users about this new release and the changes it contains.
